A MEMBER OF THE ALBERTA COLLEGE OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS AND AUDIOLOGISTS (the “COLLEGE”)

NOTICE TO ATTEND A HEARING

TO:        HOLLY MATTSON, #2935

TAKE NOTICE that you, HOLLY MATTSON, REGISTRATION 2935 (the “Registrant”) are required to attend on the 15th (fifteenth) day of March 2024, commencing at 9:30 (nine-thirty) o’clock, a.m. MST, at which time the Hearing Tribunal of the College will conduct a virtual Hearing inquiring as to whether you have engaged in unprofessional conduct with respect to the following matters:

  1. Between May 31, 2021, and May 7, 2022, Holly Mattson failed to comply with an executed resolution agreement when they did not complete and/or provide proof of completion of a required course to the Complaints Director.
  2. Between February 27, 2022 and May 7, 2022, the Regulated Member failed to meaningfully respond to the Complaints Director of the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists about their outstanding requirement arising from an executed resolution agreement, specifically a required course.
  3. Between October 1, 2022 and January 27, 2023, Ms. Mattson failed to comply with a request for a response and/or failed to cooperate with an appointed investigator.
  4. Between August 2, 2022 and November 16, 2023, the Regulated Member failed to meaningfully respond to the Complaints Director of the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists about the complaint against them that was initiated on May 7, 2022 and July 6, 2022.

IT IS ALLEGED that the conduct described above constitutes unprofessional conduct as defined in s. 1(1)(p) of the Health Professions Act, and/or constitutes a contravention of ACSLPA’s by-laws, Standards of Practice, and/or Code of Ethics.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Registrant’s failure to attend at the Hearing may result in the Hearing Tribunal proceeding in the absence of the Registrant, pursuant to section 79(6) of the Health Professions Act.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Registrant may be compelled to testify at their Hearing, pursuant to section 72(1) of the Health Professions Act.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Registrant may be represented by a lawyer at their Hearing, pursuant to section 72(2) of the Health Professions Act.

FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that Hearings of the Hearing Tribunal are open to the public unless the Hearing Tribunal directs otherwise, pursuant to section 78(1) of the Health Professions Act.
