SUMMARY OF DISCIPLINARY COMPLAINT RESOLUTION AGREEMENT

Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
(College)
The Regulated Member and the College entered into a Disciplinary Complaint Resolution Agreement in July 2024.
The Regulated Member agreed that in or around September to October, 2023, she engaged in unprofessional conduct in that she:
a. Failed to confirm and/or obtain informed consent from a parent prior to assessing their child;
b. Failed to conduct an adequate assessment of a child client;
c. Failed to adequately document a report for a child client.
The conduct admitted to in the DCRA arises from one complaint. The Regulated Member agreed to provide a letter of apology and must write a self-reflective paper on the importance of informed consent. The Regulated Member is not currently registered with ACSLPA and if they re-register or renew their registration as an SLP, they must read and review remedial materials and must complete coursework on assessment and documentation, specifically relating to Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
