Credential Assessment

Credential Assessment Fees

Credential assessment fees are non-refundable. They are payable upon application to the College by applicants who have not previously been registered in Alberta or another jurisdiction in Canada. (Effective: January 1, 2025).

General Registration

When an application is approved for a new member and/or a reinstating member, the fee is:

A Practice Permit is issued and required for speech-language pathologists and audiologists working in clinical, administrative, teaching or research settings, including those volunteering in their profession in Alberta.

Must be renewed online prior to 11:59 PM MST December 31 of the renewal year *

It is against the law to work in Alberta without a current practice permit. If you miss the deadline of 11:59 PM MST on December 31, your registration will be suspended, you will be subject to the application/reinstatement fee, and you will be ineligible to practice in Alberta until you have a current practice permit.

Retired/Honourary Renewal

For speech-language pathologists and audiologists who are no longer active in their practice. These members do not hold a Practice Permit, and may not practice.

Change of Status During the Registration Year

Non-Practicing to Practicing General Registration

For speech-language pathologists and audiologists who were non-practicing and want to return to practice and receive a practice permit for the remainder of the registration year. The fee is:

Practicing General Registration to Non-Practicing or Retired/Honourary

Complete ACSLPA website forms to apply.

A refund may be available if you renewed with a practice permit by December 31 of the preceding year and you will not be returning to practice in Alberta for the remainder of the registration year. Retroactive requests are not permitted.
