The ACSLPA Supervised Practice Period
Supervised Practice Period
- This is the last step to becoming fully registered with ACSLPA.
- Supervisees are issued a conditional practice permit for the purpose of completing the supervised practice period.
- Supervisees will have a condition on their practice permit which states that they must practice under supervision.
- The condition is removed upon successful completion of the supervised practice.
- Supervisees must obtain at least 450 hours of supervised practice (equivalent to 12 weeks of full-time work).
- This may be extended on supervisor’s recommendation.
- This includes an evaluative component (see next lesson).
- If an applicant is unable to successfully complete the supervised practice period by the deadline identified by ACSLPA, their practice permit and registration may be cancelled.
